Impeach Trump

Wrong, Jane. Just look at the positive things(there are MANY) that President Trump has accomplished in a few short weeks, like bringing back two astronauts stuck in space and Marc Fogel, who was a prisoner in Russia. This is a whole lot better than the corpse we had in the White House over the last four disastrous years.

The only way I could love the story more as if it were in the United States Congress way to go Pennsylvania

Reps. Perry, Bresnahan, and Mackenzie are all vulnerable next year, and I'm sure none is happy with this result!

Fun historical fact: the last time a Democrat won a PA state Senate seat in Lancaster County was a special election in ....1889.

https://nitter.poast.org/PAMapper/status/1904727640809865413#m

That was followed by a national Democratic wave in 1890. One of the big issues that Dems exploited in that cycle was tariffs passed by a Republican trifecta (Benjamin Harrison was president, and William McKinley was the Congressional power behind the tariffs) which sharply raised the prices of many consumer goods.

Incredible. We’re doing measles! And segregation! And dropsy! And tariffs! And dysentery!

I’m so happy I get to live through the 1890s again.

Until you got to dropsy, it was the 2020s.

A terrific and uplifting read – the breaking-news article, Mike’s informative comment, and People’s Media’s wry reply. Ok, the latter was admittedly not uplifting. But, hey, such are the absurd consequences of Trump/Musk/Thiel’s path to Neo-Feudalism.

Did the consummate jerk, Fetterman, show up to campaign? Too busy MAGAing his arse off with his tRumpy buds...gaaaah!

He still votes with the party the vast majority of the time. Let’s not try to excommunicate folks for some deviation.

Moderate Democratic Rep. Jared Golden, a former Collins staffer, is highly unlikely to challenge her.

https://www.politico.com/live-updates/2025/03/25/congress/susan-collins-polling-00246823

Good, we do not need one concerned moderate Republican to replace another concerned moderate Republican. We had Marie Perez and Henry Cuellar voting against the stopgap bill but this guy just won't. He never votes on important bills alongside democrats. It's not because of his district, it's because he is a Sinema.

Expand full comment

In fairness, Jared Golden is sort of the mirror image of Susan Collins. She is said to never cross the aisle to vote with the Democrats when it matters (her vote against Obamacare being the notable exception); likewise, Golden almost never crosses the aisle to vote with Republicans when it matters.

He would be a big improvement on Collins.

Expand full comment

I disagree. He would be worse, because we would not even be able to remove him like Sinema because of Ranked choice.

Sinema would be a big improvement on Collins, too! Pay attention to the totality of their voting.

Life in the age of Trump and Musk. The two of them clearly do not understand that the vast majority of Americans hate what they are doing -- taking a chainsaw to the American economy, ruining relations with allies and cozying up to dictators, completely ignoring the law and the Constitution and making it clear that they think courts have no right to judge what they are doing. Every time Americans get a chance to cast a vote on this, they will vote for the Democrat. Not just in Pennsylvania, but all over the land! Trump is already a lame duck president. In 2026 he needs to be kneecapped and good!

Expand full comment

You say that, yet he won a plurality after causing hundreds of thousands of unnecessary deaths and causing chaos in his first time, then being convicted of felonies and found liable for sexual assault.

Expand full comment

The period of 2016-2020 was stressful for knowledgeable/engaged liberals but for your median American the economy was fine and Trump was more of an entertaining yet annoying carnival act than real threat. That's no longer the case.

Expand full comment

Well, yes, but in large part because he and Faux Noise managed to memory-hole the first term. What's happened now is that those who voted for him because of the belief that he was going to improve the economy (despite the fact that the economy was in great shape already) have realized that nothing could be further from the truth. They're coming after grandma's Social Security with the truly lord-of-the-realm claim that grandma won't notice if she misses a payment, because she'll get it next month. That's not how Social Security works, and the bottom line is that people got cheated. And now the piper is calling the tune.

To the Davids, and all of the contributors/ editors -

I want to thank you guys for always following these races for me. But more importantly, I want to thank you for carefully choosing when to email us! You use good judgement! I was able to hop onto your video discussing Schumer’s betrayal last week, which made me feel more like a part of a community! Then, to wake up to this article in my inbox this morning was such a pleasant surprise. I’m accustomed to miserable, scary, awful, crazy pants political news multiple times a day. It was so nice to wake up to some good news today! Keep up the excellent work and know that you’re making a positive impact on many of our daily lives!

So the R loser isn’t trying to toss ballots, like sore loser Jefferson Griffin here in NC? Malone won fewer seats than Alison Riggs did— but a win is a win!

I hope this is sending a signal to not just the GOP nationwide, but the extremist judges here in North Carolina. If they follow state statute (aka not handing Griffin the seat) and call another election between Griffin and Riggs— Riggs is going to win again by a bigger margin.
