For the most part up until the Republican budget Gillibrand voted for, she had a reliably liberal voting record where she was a regular team player for Democrats. Her voting record in the House differed but that was representative of the district at the time.
Lamb on the other hand has not been in Congress since 2023. If he runs for the Senate and wins in 2028, he won’t have the GOP budget as a liability against him.
What do you mean Gillibrand has pretended to be a liberal for a long time? Are you arguing she doesn't hold these principles at heart and it's not just because of the House district she represented over a decade ago?
It remains to be seen about Lamb and what would happen if he runs and ends up getting elected as a Senator. However, we also didn't expect Senator Brian Schatz to vote YES on the CR.
If she seemed to hold any principle sincerely, it's championing the interests of women who are sexually harassed and abused, yet she said recently merely that it's up to voters whether we vote for Cuomo for Mayor. And she voted for the Republican budget yet claims in constituent email and snail mail to be fighting against Republican cuts to Medicaid, etc.
Yeah, it's strange that Kirsten Gillibrand pushed Al Franken to leave the Senate but isn't using the same energy against pushing Andrew Cuomo to leave the NY Mayoral Race. Sounds hypocritical.
I hope Jessica Ramos or another candidate outside of the influence of Cuomo ends up winning the primary race just simply to stick it to the machine. If this is the case, then it may be a warning sign to Gillibrand come 2030.
And Gillibrand voted for the Republican budget. So not such a great precedent.

True, but I don't know how much we can trust him on such votes. Gillibrand has pretended to be liberal for a long time.

Ahhh ok.

No, I certainly didn't, and I think he should be primaried out for that.
Yeah, Schatz shouldn't get a pass on this.
