Sadly, yes that is true. DiSaster will likely never again be on a ballot of solely Florida voters, so it seems like he really doesn't give a shit what Florida voters think anymore. He appointed a rabid forced birther as a judge in Hillsborough County recently. In August, the voters rejected this judge and elected the choice candidate. Weeks later, before his failed judge was out of office, DiSaster appointed him to a different judgeship, voters be damned. I tell everyone who will listen to vote "no" on the retention of all Florida judges, since almost all at this point were either appointed by Rick Scott or Ron DiSaster, neither of whom have ever done a decent thing for Florida as far as I can tell.
One thing you missed about the KY election is that, no matter who wins, the court will be majority-female once the winner takes office.
Excellent note!
Great info. Two of Florida's horrible Supreme Court justices, Renatha Francis and
Meredith Sasso who literally do anything Gov DiSaster wants them to do have active opposition in their retention elections,
Alas, I had thought about including them, but even if they are not retained, DeSantis would be able to appoint their replacements.
